About Me

My name is Kacie Riann, I am 23 years old, and I am a recent graduate of Western Washington University with a B.A. in English/Creative Writing.

Me in my natural environment, the Pacific Northwest

My full time home is Washington State in the U.S.A, but I have been itching to see more of the world for as long as I remember. I have visited 21 different countries, including a semester abroad in Prague, Czech Republic in the Spring of 2011.

In late September, 2012 I embarked on my latest international adventure: Teaching English as a second language in the Republic of Georgia, or “Georgia the country, not the state,” as I have grown accustomed to saying to my confused friends and family members.

This is where Georgia is!

This blog will chronicle my time in Georgia from application phase to the flight back home. I’m sure it will consist mostly of thinking out loud, lightly panicking, and attempting to understand a culture, job, and language that is all completely, well, foreign to me.

If you’d like to see what my life was like before Georgia, check out my other blog, Kacie’s Kinship, which is currently on hiatus while I focus on this one!
